Why would I set an alternate date?
Many times we are considering more then one date for an event. By putting in an alternate date you will give the Vendors/Sellers more information about when your event will be held. This also might help you get better prices. For example: You might not know that the hotel your trying to book in Las Vegas for your big event on the first week in February is hosting a large event. By giving them an alternate date this same hotel may give your a great rate for your event.
TIP: Provide as much information in your Requests for Quotes (RFQs) The more information the Vendors/Sellers have the better their Proposal (RFPs) will be.
